Disaster Recovery Projects

Base One Technologies performs business analysis, designs Business Continuity Plans, develops and manages Disaster Recovery testing, conducts process re-engineering, implements solutions, and provides guidance and support to Disaster Recovery teams around the world. We consistently review and set higher standards for system and network security, reconfigure network topologies, resolve points of instability and prevent technology and/or process failures from impacting business operations.

• At Citibank, we successfully addressed a repeated outage problem at their Funds Transfer Network (FTN), a system that supports the daily global transfers of funds from Citibank and its partners to the Federal Reserves. This network is a very complex infrastructure using multiple interconnected systems in various locations. The Federal Government had warned Citibank about future outages. To circumvent this issue, Base One performed business analysis, re-architected, tested, implemented and supported a new Global Disaster Recovery solution. The proof of our designed architecture was that it withstood the 9/11 WTC disaster without a single transaction failure despite the loss of primary network routing due to carrier failure.

• At British Petroleum/Amoco, we worked as Lead Data Security Architect to review and set standards for data network security. Our reports showed that, with the advent of its mergers with Amoco and other oil companies, BP had discrepancies in its network topology, equipment configurations and various points of failure in its routing and security policies. We reconfigured network topologies, located and resolved points of instability and failure and proposed a new IP network architecture. We then worked to implement this new disaster recovery solution successfully.

• For the Federal Aviation Agency (FAA), we provided an IP based network solution in response to an RFI to re-engineer their existing networks including a new Disaster Recovery Solution. The new solution resulted in performance recovery standards of 6 seconds response time.
