Base One QUALITY ASSURANCE PROGRAM |
Base One's Quality Assurance (QA) program is a corporate function that supports all elements of the organization. Our expectation is that producing error free products is not only a function of contract performance but also a function of all the departments that support the contract such as recruiting and accounting. Each member of the Base One team has specific QA responsibilities, all of which must be performed successfully for the contract to produce quality results:
- The corporate manager of Quality Assurance and Quality Control is a de facto member of every task order.
- At the Program level, the program manager bears responsibility for contract-wide quality measures including the quality control review, process documentation, review participants and frequency of reviews.
- At the Task Order Project level the project manager has the responsibility of ensuring quality control procedures are implemented on tasks.
- At the Task level it is each team member's responsibility to provide for the quality of their work.
For all our projects Base One develops a Quality Plan to fit the project size and scope. Each Quality Plan identifies:
- Major deliverables
- Process documentation
- Completeness and correctness criteria
- Quality control activities
- Quality assurance activities
- Quality review (both the participants and frequency)
- Metrics to be used
- Procedures for handling forthcoming issues and resolution management
While the quality plan describes the quality assurance and control activities for a project, the actual activities needed to implement these must be identified and included throughout the project work plan. One of the keys to Base One's quality plan is that the control activities are performed continually during a project.
